Mendoza: 12-KM River Rafting Tour in the Andes

1.Mendoza: 12-KM River Rafting Tour in the Andes

★★★★★★★★★★3.9 · 94 reviews · 2 - 7 hours · from $35 a head Our pick

You’ll ride a 12-km stretch of the Mendoza River with a professional Spanish- or English-speaking guide, tackling advertised level 3 and 4 rapids in a small group. Juanpi is one guide praised for his friendly approach. The one-hour rafting run is the main event, while transfers and free time can make the outing last up to seven hours.

“Activity was thrilling for a beginner. The guide was clear, informative, friendly and lots of fun. However they made a mistake with our booking and had us down for another day so we were not picked up in the morning. They did send an Uber who drove like a maniac but got us to our destination on time. The wait time after the activity to go back to our accommodation was a little too long however we filled the time nicely by having lunch at a beautiful hotel next door and being in nature was lovely and meeting other travellers was pleasant.”

“Het raften was geweldig. Enorm aardige en bekwame gidsen. Het ziplinen was enigszins saai. 3 korte stukjes over de rivier. Je moet daarna ook zo’n 3 uur wachten totdat de rest klaar is met abseilen voordat de bus terug naar Mendoza vertrekt maar je zit dan wel op een mooie plek aan het meer”

4.Cacheuta Hot Springs Park + Intermediate Rafting

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 51 reviews · 10 hours (approx.) · from $100 a head

Spend about 10 hours combining Cacheuta’s pools and two zip lines with intermediate rafting near Potrerillos. Xnoccio Aventura provides wetsuits, helmets, life jackets, shoes, and safety gear. Guides such as Silvio, Pascua, and Aqua have led the rafting, though English support can vary. Lunch is not included.

“The rafting was really fun! Aqua is an excellent guide- very talented and fun personality! She speaks English well too. I would personally recommend a longer rafting trip instead of the hot springs as it was the best part. Some of the guides are the current Argentinian champions. Word of advise for fellow gringos- If you are not completely fluent in Spanish you may have a difficult time on this particular tour. The instructions are only given in Spanish and hard to hear when spoken with masks on and given in vans and buses in motion. Aqua did give directives in English and Spanish once we were in the raft…”

“Amazing tour on the Rio de Las Vueltas with amazing views of Fitz Roy & the rest of the mountain range. We completed the activity in October (the weather was very chilly and windy) but this did absolutely not matter once we were kitted out - plenty of layers to keep you toasty warm, even when being splashed in icy glacier water. The guides and additional safety staff were amazing and make you feel very at ease. Plenty of OMG moments during the 10km of rapids, mixed with some chilled moments to catch your breath and take in the scenery. All photos and videos immediately sent to you as well.…”
